10 Things You Probably Didn't Know About Me

10 Things You Probably Didn't Know About Me

So while building my website (specifically, my Meet Kailee page) a while back, I wanted to get creative with the information I shared about myself and how it was presented, but most every About page I come across is so saturated.  So in the end, I kept it simple, concise, and genuine.

Today, I'd like to share a few more fun things about myself that you probably don't know!

Sweet and simple. The way I like it!

1. My comedic influence is as strong as a toothpick. I'm not that funny. I'm quirky, but not funny. My timing is always off and it just doesn't get any better. I'm the only person that thinks I'm funny......HAHA

Penelope Turns One! | North Florida Film Photographer

Penelope Turns One! | North Florida Film Photographer

I feel like I have endless words about this shoot. The film camera seems to be settling in more comfortably in my hands each time I shoot a film session. The digital camera fits well too, but there's a connection, a commitment to film. You commit to it and then wait on it. Unlike digital which is fast paced, spontaneous, and moldable. Whereas film is like a wise elder, set in it's ways but no stranger to change.

It Feels So Weird...

It Feels So Weird...

1. I am currently booking 2018 Weddings and Seniors. It's a grand mixture of meetings, calls, long drives, photoshoots, post-processing, wooing of my heart, loving, and squealing at the final result! If you're on this journey with me, you know I've been cranking it out lately! I shared on my Instagram Story recently that I've started tracking my miles for taxes and so far, I've earned around $350 in miles. That's WILD! :D

Rehanna | Class of 2018

Rehanna | Class of 2018

I had the immense joy of photographing Rehanna's senior session and just couldn't get enough of her camera loving self! I have to say, my SRHS Seniors I've photographed so far are total BOSSES. Rehanna not only is a senior and has played sports for years, this year, she is dual enrolling, will graduate with her A.A. in Nursing, and on top of that, works as a lifeguard! Can you say #bossgirl ??? She loves the water so the beach was a natural fit. It was an honor to add Rehanna to my Senior Portfolio!

Erica + Austin | New Smyrna Beach Anniversary Session On Film

There is not much I can muster to say about this session. Erica is my sister and probably my first friend, and earliest influence over me as my older sibling. One of my earliest memories of her is us fighting over the blonde Barbie in the bathtub (which I wanted because Erica had blonde hair and I got what I thought was muddy auburn and sometimes ginger-y red hair) and then lying in bed scratching each others backs.

Emilee + John David | Old Ruins Anniversary Session In Fernandina On Film

One year of love. I've social media followed Emilee and John David for years. The camera loves them and they love the camera so of course my photographer's heart dreamt! But praise Jesus, I got to photograph their anniversary session! Not everyone is comfortable in front of a camera,(which is okay!!!) but these two know how to WORK IT. It's not just about knowing angles and composition or cute poses with these two. What you see is real life and how they naturally fell into place in front of the camera. And just when you thought their real life love story couldn't get any more romantic....(you know, an elopement a year ago, being traveling beekeepers that get to see the U.S.....)

Pretty Preview | Erica+Austin

The wait is difficult. My past two sessions I did completely on film. Of course I chose to do them right before Christmas so the wait for my lab to come back from the holidays is making me crazzzzyyyy! ;P

At my last session, I took a few tester photos on my DSLR before we got started just to have some instant feedback from the shoot (hmmm, ironic right?). And these are they. I can't wait for the film to come back! <3

The Holiday Spirit

The Holiday Spirit

Christmas is fast approaching and as I sit here and reminisce on the season so far, I can't help but think that this is a wonderful holiday season so far. I don't know about ya'll but my perception of the holiday season is greatly affected by the temperature. LOL. If it's cold, it must be falll/winter! If it's hot (because we Floridians know that there's only a few types of temperatures with the majority being similar to a hot wing sauce scale. You know, hot, hotter, hottest, Fire, Insane, ect. And maybe a drive by cool front that's gone faster than it came.), then it's summer! I hate to break it to you, but there's no "spring" down here in Florida.  It's always 75 degrees or higher. LOL.
